On May 28th, the 2023 Pleasant Reading of Jiangsu-Pleasant Reading of Suzhoufor foreign students, sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and hosted by Suzhou University,closedat Suzhou Universitysuccessfully. Our school organized four representatives of international students to participate in the event, and their team won the Best Team Award and Best Report Award. Pleasant Reading of Suzhou activity is the last stop of“Pleasant Reading ofJiangsu”,this year's key work of foreign student education in Jiangsu Province, attracting 88 international students from 15 universities in the province to participate. Our school's participating international students read masterpieces by renowned writers such as Lu Wenfu, Wang Meng, Su Tong, and Fan Xiaoqing in groups, experiencing Suzhou's over 2500 years of history, profound culture, picturesque scenery, warm and friendly people, rich and colorful folk customs through beautiful and meaningful writings. In the final video report, they presented Suzhou's history,culture, and contemporary development around the literary works by groups.
Through this activity, international students from our school and other universities in the province collided with sparks of thinking while walking and reading, expanding each other's horizons, enhancing their understanding of Suzhou's contemporary development and traditional culture, and enhancing their emotional recognition ofknowing,andlovingChina.
